About Me
Scared, anxious, nervous, frustrated, and stressed.
For many stretches of my childhood, teen years, and young adulthood, those five words defined my daily reality. The constant fear of what might happen next robbed me of so many experiences that could have been more filled with happiness. To top it off, it stole the joy from my biggest passion: competitive basketball.
To the outside world, I was happy, smiling, athletic, and smart. But privately, I was struggling. The fear of disappointing a teacher, getting yelled at by a coach, or failing a test turned my weeks into ones filled with anxiety. This private battle not only impacted my confidence, but consistently hindered my performance on the court.
Despite having the skill, passion, and a dream to play university basketball, the combination of anxiety and a negative, hyper-critical coaching environment created many roadblocks. After a nearly flawless tryout, I was cut from my senior high school team as it became evident that coaches labeled me as "soft" and unable to handle the pressure. My competitive basketball years came to a painful, abrupt end.
Despite the above, deep down, I still had a want to feel better and I refused to let fear win.
MY SHIFT
Nearing the end of high school, I knew I wanted a happier adult life and I knew I couldn't do it alone. I reached out to my family and found a therapist who could helped me—a decision that changed my life forever.
Unlocking the tools to manage my own mental health sparked a new passion and purpose for me. I realized I didn't want anyone else to suffer the way I did. This led me to study psychology, eventually earning my master’s degree and becoming a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist. I found my true calling: helping others.
For over 14 years, I have worked in the mental health field, helping individuals aged 12 and older conquer challenges like anxiety, panic, stress, low mood, self-criticism, neurodiversity, school and work issues, and navigating relationships.
Throughout this journey, I noticed a powerful trend: sport and team-based environments are incredible testing grounds for life and its challenges. When youth and people of all ages learn to master their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors on the court, field, or ice, their entire lives can transform for the better.
Full-Circle TRANSITION into MENTAL PERFORMANCE FOR ATHLETES
A few years ago, my mission became deeply personal again. Watching my niece grow into an extraordinary, elite multi-sport athlete brought my journey full circle. Seeing her success ignited my drive to specialize in helping young athletes and those of all ages navigate the intense pressures of competitive sports.
As more local athletes sought my help and word spread about how I was able to help them manage anxiety, regulate emotions, and perform under pressure, I chose to expand my expertise. In 2025, I dedicated myself learning under Dr. Sara Hickmann, a renowned Clinical Performance & Sport Psychologist with over two decades of experience training elite athletes in the NBA (L.A. Clippers, Brooklyn Nets), NHL (L.A. Kings), and NFL (New York Jets).
I graduated in the top 10% of my class and was awarded a Certification in Sport Psychology by Dr. Hickmann and ELVTR.
